Helping Students Build Executive Function Skills for School and Life.

Using a structured, systems-based approach to support students with ADHD and empower learners of all profiles to achieve lasting academic and life success.

My Philosophy—

Leveraging Personalized Systems to Strengthen Learning and Achievement in the Classroom

What is a “System’s Approach?”

Teaching students easy, clear and effective “systems” takes the guess work out of how to do school. Using systems is a results driven framework of daily habits and actions that aim to afford students the most academic success with the least amount of stress.

As an academic support specialist, I work with students every day on things like time management, staying on top of homework, studying for tests, accountability, and other executive function skills. I realized that I had been teaching all the right strategies—but I was teaching them as separate pieces instead of as a connected plan.

I teach students how to create and utilize simple, realistic systems that are easy to follow and actually fit into busy student lives. Systems that help students approach class with confidence, prepare effectively for quizzes and tests, and handle big exams without last-minute panic. Small daily habits, done consistently, that lead to real understanding of the material, stronger responsibility for their work, and a much more successful (and less stressful) academic experience.

My approach to academic coaching uses 3 different, easy to use, effective “systems.”  A system for “How to Approach Classes” a system for “How to Prepare for Tests” and a system for “Preparing for Exams.” Together, these 3 systems serve as a powerful, effective and generally easy way to improve grades and classroom success.
